The Onion

Red onion or scallion (Allium cepa L.) is the name of the plant of the Alliceae familia and the name of tuber or root which is produced by this plat. Root of onion crop  is the main ingredient for Asian food. It used as a basis ingredient. This plant is considered coming from  Central Asia region that is aronud India.

Red onion contain
s C vitamint, potassium, and Folic Acid, but it also contains calcium, iron and protein with a high content. Onion also contains natural plant growth regulators in the form of the auxin and giberein hormone. Other use of onion is as traditional medicine. Onion is known as a drug because it contains an antiseptic effect and alliin compounds. Alliin by the enzyme alliinase  then converted to pivurat acid, ammonia, and alliisin as anti microbe or bactericidal.

INTRODUCTION

Many plant around us, called as herb, can be function as medicine. We can learn how to process them to be a simple medicine. However, the plant will be used must be accurate because every plant has different pharmacology effect so we will not make mistake in using them. There are some important considerations to use them as medicine: the plants, the processing, how to use, and other medical action.
